I am planning to get my first windows phone in couple of weeks, I am planning to buy either 1020 or 920. I wanted users of these devices to give out details. I cannot go for 1520 as it is out of my budget. Apart from camera differences, as camera stands par with that 41Mp, post the rest. NO DEBATES over OS here :)
Battery is main :)

Why I am posting here rather than looking at device comparisons? All the marketing strategy done by android, is making mess to find out.

People from mobile nation are always great :smile:

Re: ATTENTION !!!! 920 & 1020 users

Get the 1020! It looks better in design and it's lighter. It's camera is definitely better!
I got mine 3 days ago. Absolutely the best decision I've ever taken!

If the camera is extremely important, get the 1020. Otherwise, the 920 will probably cost you less.

Re: ATTENTION !!!! 920 & 1020 users

you could ask nicely.

better get the 1020.

sorry :W but yes, i need to know what's main difference in btw these two?
with inner features GPU, RAM, battery, does 920 hangs ? Guys, I don't know whether the lumia hangs or not. But why I am asking is I don't want to end up with bad impression on my first purchase of Lumia.

The really main difference is the camera, and if we look a bit more close, the screen, the 920 has an LCD panel, and the 1020 has an AMOLED panel, plus the 2GB of RAM on the 1020. Oh, and the 1020 hasn't got wireless charging built-in

The main difference between the two is the camera :)

I have the 920 running the 8.1 developers preview, no hanging whatsoever.

Re: ATTENTION !!!! 920 & 1020 users

Difference between the 920 and 1020.

Camera
Weight
Qi charging
Different type of screen
1 GB vs 2 GB of ram

I say there are plenty of differences between them

Re: ATTENTION !!!! 920 & 1020 users

Hi Urskruz,

I am a Lumia 920 owner and not to complictae things, but I think your choice is three way as you should add the 925 to your list and which is best all depends on what sort of user you are.

The 920 is a big device, but I don't find it a problem because the design is very smooth. Apart from the buttons and metal strip up the back there is nothing to trip the fingers and it is very well balanced. You get OIS, 32GB and she comes in RED! She still turns heads and has done nothing araprt from improve since the day I got her.

If the 920 is too big, there is the 925. You loose the colours (white, grey and black only), Wireless charging (unless you buy a cover) and will have to watch whether you get the 16GB or 32GB versions. You gain slimline looks with the aluminium surround, a marginally better camera which has six lens elements instead of five and a camera bulge which is small but not to my taste. getting a 925 from scratch makes sense, upgrading from a 920 doesn't.

The 1020 is really only an option if you want to use that monster camera, because that bulge is BIG. Having said that, I'd have one in a heartbeat if I could afford it. It is a niche device which won't do most things any better than a 920 or 925. It just depends on whether you can justify the extra cost.

All three devices are good, will take great pictures in low light and will serve you well.

Good luck.

Re: ATTENTION !!!! 920 & 1020 users

The 1020 I find more awkward to hold personally and while I love a good camera, the slide shot to shout hurts. The 920 is flawed only on the sense it is the heavier phone (and arguably the LCD instead of OMLED screen which would make Glance a more compelling if minor feature). Otherwise the phones are near identical. OS and software are the same.

Yes, LCD gives better look than OMLED it saves battery pretty much. Proved well on my devices, I think the brightness of 920 beats 1020.

Re: ATTENTION !!!! 920 & 1020 users

Sorry, that should say "shot to shot" time. Those 41m pxl pictures take several seconds to save and if you miss the picture on your first try you are waiting what feels like a long time.

I had a 1020 but went back to my 920 after just a couple weeks. I'm going to try a 925, but for me the 920 is a winner.

because carriers have so much control over updates released to devices, the developer preview is a sort of wink-wink, nudge-nudge early access program for enthusiasts who don't want to wait months for their carrier to push the update if ever. technically its for developers, but the bar to become one is pretty low so anyone can do it.

For the most part, the primary difference between the 1020 and 920 is camera chops.
There are some smaller ones though.
