The following 4 images are crops from the full frame high resolution copies. I had zoomed in slightly without realising it and as a result the fireworks in the pictures were slightly out of frame. When I was reviewing the images, I was able to create the crops and rescue the moments! The 1020 may sacrifice shot-to-shot times but I'm kinda glad it does when it gives me the ability to do things like this!

damm, i just realized that setting the focus to infinity, makes the edge looks so blurry on a 16:9 shots. mainly more into landscape, and isn't infinity focus meant for landscapes ?!
because of that, all my 4 shots above are ruined by blurry edges. any experts here care to explain that? hopefully i'm not having a defective unit.
i have done a comparison of both with infinity and auto focus and clearly the auto focus gave the best overall sharpness.

Enlarge to see the difference

Hey guys! I received my L1020 finally and found this EPIC thread with so many awesome photos! I'm trying to get nice pics as you do, but I have some problems with night shots, cant get them that nice. Just a question @pennzoilgtr: what settings have you used for those stunning photos? Are they edited somehow?

welcome to the Lumia family ! 😁

*amateur advise, not a pro photographer *
For night photos with exaggerate amount of details, your ISO need to go as low as possible to preserve the details. But it the shutter needs more time to stay open to capture as much detail and light as possible, so in short it have to stay at the same position without moving or even slight vibration. Thus you need a tripod, and that's what I do for my case. Well you can pm me if you wanna know more.
