I did almost the same dumping my Sony Nex 3N. Grabbed an almost new 1020 for 300 and found a used grip. So much more portable.

Man I would've kept the Sony Nex 3N too though. Fine piece of equipment. I still own my Samsung NX1000 which I don't plan on getting rid of until I get a more powerful compact DSLR. With the lens unattached I can fit it in my pocket. Still not as portable as the 1020 though.

I tend to use real DSLR cameras like my Canon EOS 450D... But I love photography and Windows Phone and even though the 1020 is not replacing my camera I still picked it just in case I don't have my camera on me! Anyway, here is the first photo I took with my 1020 today!

Here's a selection of photos taken on a recent trip to the Brecon Beacons..

I took this one whilst on a bike ride. There's some amazing views all around:

These are from Llangorse Lake:

This one was taken at Blaen-Y-Glyn waterfall near Talybont-on-Usk. I took them using two ND filters. There was quite a bit of purple colour cast on the photos which I have tried to remove using Photoshop but think it could do with more tinkering. If anyone has any tips to remove colour cast from ND filters, that would be great.

Haven't posted here for a long time, but this was too cool to resist. I was at a Starbucks yesterday - inside the store mind you - and saw a large green something crawling up my leg. Freaked and almost killed the damned thing (by accident - in spite of my avatar I don't actually go around putting insects on trial and torturing them to death). Turned out to be a praying mantis! After making apologies to it, the thing finally let me pick him up and hold him for a while; so I was able to get this shot. After, I walked outside and set him free in some rushes growing in back of the store. Instead of just using the phone's jpg, I transferred the DNG file to my PC, loaded into LightRoom, then applied a preset by VSCO. These aren't cheap by the way, but I love the effect. So the output is a jpg file that is almost identical - at FULL resolution - to what you would get by scanning a Fuji Velvia 50ISO HC slide! Hope you like.. PMantis.jpg
