Those photos are yet again resized and compressed, therefore not worth a penny. Only way to give us good glance about IQ, is to post original 5Mp or full res photos.

If you have the money why not get the best there is even if you may not always use all the advanced features? Nokia has clearly advertised the 1020 for begginer and enthusiast photographers alike, thats why they made the Pro camera app so easy to use. The bottom line is that the 1020 is the king of camera phones, therefore it should be given that it can take better Auto shots than any other smartphone out there.
The 808 was more of a niche device not because of the camera but mainly because of the OS used, on the other hand the 1020 uses a modern phone OS that is way more mainstream than the 808 one was.

If you have the money and want the best, you know which phone to get and from which company, you know who the best is. That's right, you answered it yourself, it was the first company you thought of.

Okay, so serious question, do you think the 1020's camera is at least better than the 920?

After they tweak it, it might take better pictures. They need to sort out the grain and noise issue, if they do it'll be OK, I like the colours it produces, a little over-saturated but better than 920.

Stop trolling!! The image captured with Lumia 1020 have less grain and noise than 808 PureView image. People are talking about grain and noise if full-res images without knowing that oversampling reduces noise and hence Nokia always asked to use 5 MP mode on 808 PureView or Lumia 1020. At 34 Mp Lumia 1020 sensor captures less noise than 808's sensor....Troll busted.
Comparison between 200% & 300% crops of Lumia 1020 and 808 full-resolution (34 MP) images. Lumia 1020 sems to capture less noise.

Have to disagree. Lumia 1020 is noisier and when zooming in to pics Lumias details look mushy. 808 photo was shot on cloydy day and Lumias in sunny day. Still 808 produses less noise.
