Microsoft store backorder!!!

I just went to the site and logged into my account. It shows that my order was approved and that carrier approval was approved as well. But not shipped due to backorder. Could this be an error and just waiting on the shipment of new devices to arrive, or is the phone really in backorder?

Could possibly just indicate that they have no stock of the item being a preorder, or it could actually be backordered, we'll find out soon enough! ;) Good luck

Jsut checked again and my status changed to "Approved - Awaiting Inventory" with a description of:

We apologize for the inconvenience, but the phone you ordered is extremely popular.

We receive shipments of additional phones daily and will fulfill out-of-stock orders in the order in which they were received.

We can't tell you exactly when your phone will ship right now, but we can tell you that:
Your price is protected
Your phone is reserved
All promotions as part of your order will be fulfilled
We will ship it as soon as we receive the shipment


Once it has been packed, we will send you an email and update our Customer Support site with a FedEx tracking number.


Special note for Preorders:
If you placed an order for a device that is currently in preorder, we will begin shipping them in the order they were received as soon as we are authorized to release the devices.

Yeah, mines says the same thing. I guess I read too fast and didn't notice the preorder note. :D

Huh, mine is in the awaiting approval and has this note:\

Thank you for your order.

1020 Black and will begin processing your order as soon as we receive
confirmation that the devices are on their way to us. Some important
notes on our preorder process:

    soon as we receive word that the devices are on their way to us, we
    will begin processing your order by sending your application to AT&T
    for approval
  • We are holding your entire order and will process everything together
  • When
    a confirmed ship date is available, we will send you an email.
    Unfortunately our agents won't know the confirmed ship date before you
    do
  • We ship all approved preorders in the order in which they were submitted and received
