Other storage

Just picked up a Lumia 1020 this evening at full retail price. Other storage already taking up 2.6 GB. Wasn't this supposed to be "fixed" with GDR2 or is this the new normal?

My understanding is that is the new normal, I was a bit freaked out about it to, mine is at 3.2 gigs BUT it hasn't gone above that, usually somewhere between 2.5 and 3 on average

Ok, so there is a misnomer I think with the "other" storage. think of it as your appdata folder in windows. It holds all the writable data that an app uses. For outlook, emails and such, save files, stuff like that. It also depends with the amount of apps you have installed, as the more you have, the more apps that are using the 'other' storage.

If that's true then they should either break it down by app or account for that storage in the Apps section instead of Other.
