Lumia 1020 Top Hole what is it (not sim)

Hello Everyone,

I am kind of curious what the small top hole above the ambient light sensor (not the SIM card slot hole but near it). All of the cases seem to leave it open.
The at&t person said it was for reception but it is not close to any of the antenna according to the manual.

interesting spot to put the mic. Considering it is on the top of the phone and yet I don't see an opening at the bottom of the phone for the mic when you hold it up to your head.

At the bottom the mic is probbably in the speaker grill.

Noise cancelling mic is on top on most smartphones. Regular mic is hidden right under the screen in a small, hard to see spot.

It's actually one of the 3 HAAC Microphones than enable you to "rich record" - that is, recording loud events with no distortion like at a concert.

The placement of the top mic is also a nice design feature as it lines up nicely with the sim card door hole.
