Anyone know if its still worth getting a 1020 or stay with my 920 till another high end comes out as I would like the new phablet coming out but don't have the 41mp camera which I want and second part of the question is can the 1020 do 4k video for future when more relevant as I seen the new note 3 and Sony phone can and there's isn't a high 41mp

Personally I do not see 4k being relevant or affordable to the masses for at least a few more years. I think the cheapest 4k camera available today is somewhere around $5k.

Affordable stand-alone 4k video cameras are still several years away.

Then phones... well... some time after that.

To me, no phone has perfected 1080p video. That should be worked on before even thinking about 4k video (which pretty much no one has a monitor/tv that has that resolution).

Have you got a 4K display? Nope?

Does 1020 have internal memory to handle 4k storage? Nope?

Okay. That clears it!

PC / monitors have been late to the 4k race.

Currently only OSX seem to handle high DPI scaling well. Windows is a mess.

Ha. Did you folks also say 1080p was useless during the early days of HDTV?

If anything, 4K will be useful to finally get us high quality 1080p video, because a device that can do a mediocre job recording 4K should do an excellent job recording 1080p. Just like the 41MP sensor of the 1020 is needed in order to get a high quality 5MP shot. :)

I think 720p/1080p with 120fps is far more interesting than 4k. I?m recording still at 720p :) . The 720p of 1020 is a bit worse than the Nokia808 720p but still good enough for me.

As one of those above posters, we haven't been saying it isn't coming., just that it is worthless and not a feature anyone should care about.

People were saying that about 1080p video recording on phones not too long ago and look where we are now. We expect 1080p as standard now.

TThe more people who buy into new technology as early adopters the cheaper and more widespread it will become

I just want an update to adjust and lock exposure. That would be enough. Come on, Nokia, Filmic is doing it on other phones.

If I dared ask for more, I would want a grip case where I can screw on ND filters ( for slower shutter 24p video ) and polarizers. 4k is silly. 1020 had bigger sensor with high pixel count, but that's for low noise, not for high res.
