Hi TheTHM,
I thought also about building my own CameraGrip, bcs i got a set of lens from my grandfather. It would be awsome if you can share your 3D-Model with us :)
Greetings form Germany :)

Hello Niko,

I'll post the link on here after I'm able to test it out. Don't want you wasting your money if it doesn't work.

Thanks! I still need to test the focal distance between the SLR lens and the camera to make any adjustments needed to the length of the barrel on the exterior. Hopefully I can shave off some material and end up with a cheaper model to 3D print. Right now it's around $60 USD to print on Shapeways. Not too bad, but I'd like it to be cheaper.

The focus distance or FFD differs depending on the type of SLR lens you would like to use; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flange_focal_distance

If you are going to use SLR lenses with the 1020 you may want to give this a read; http://forums.windowscentral.com/nokia-lumia-1020/261439-diy-dof-adapter-1020-w-beastgrip.html

Results I am now getting on v3 of the adapter;

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to show you my little prototype for a bit of macro fun. My aim was to get is as simple and easy to use as possible.

and here's another one but a bit blurred:
P1220156.jpg
It's still a prototype, but it's holding together and allows shooting. I really wanted something that I can apply on my 1020 when it's needed (fast and easy) and take it off when i'm not using it.

Now some comparison shots I took:
Without macro filters:

WP_20140307_20_28_57_Pro.jpg,
And this one is with the "lossless" zoom but without the macro filter:

And now photos with the filter attached (some are with the lossless zoom, some are not. May be blurry but keep in mind that they were taken with not so strong artificial light):

When Sunday comes, I'm going to take it off for some nature outdoor shooting! I'll share my results with You after :)

Thanks Crasstoe! That chart helps out tremendously.

I'm already seeing that I will need to update the model and possibly create and additional adapter for the F-Mount lenses.

Its a tricky thing, and there is a lot of variables dependant in lenses and the phone being used. E.g. My DOF adapter will work straight away with any 1020, but an iPhone requires minor adjustments, and different lenses other than M42 require even more. I really look forward to seeing what you can come up with, i found building an adapter yourself gives you a new insight into how photography works with a phones sensor and lenses, and gives you a new perspective.

Tag! A lot of what I've been trying to accomplish with my lens seems to be getting closer and closer to reality.

...obviously, that's just a 1020 camera grip with a lens put in front of it to no actual effect, but this thread gives me hope that someday I'll be able to legitimately attach this!
