As far as I know, the early batches of the 1020 say this.

Mine sais 909 as well, I kind of like it because it reminds me of the legacy of the 808. I actually haven't seen any 1020 that does not have the 909 designation. Can anyone who has just recently got a 1020 confirm whether Nokia changed it in newer batches?

Nokia 909 sounds better than Nokia Lumia 1020 ... I really wish they would've kept the old Nokia XXX naming scheme

You're all wrong,
Nokia probably didn't get the Beatles permission to use 909 unlike Apple who got the Beatles permission to use the name Apple

As so many have said (and as is found in one the little Owner's Manual booklets they give you), Nokia often goes through several different code names throughout phases of the development process. Seeing as this is the successor to the Preview 808, they likely started out with the name Lumia 909 before it received its final, launch title, the Lumia 1020. It has no impact on the device, it's just a fragment from the different phases of development. A little weird, I no, but nothing to worry or fret about.
