I have not bought a 1020 yet, but I am seriously considering it. If I have to replace the battery on the 1020 after a couple years, will I be able to take it to a Microsoft Store and get it done there?

If so how much would I be expecting for the battery replacement?

All my past phones had replaceable batteries although I never did have to replace it in the 3 years I keep my phones for.

Having a replaceable battery does bring a peace of mind, since all batteries eventually deteriorate.

As long as you treat your battery well, keeping it between 20-90% charge for most of its life I can't see that you'd have a problem with it. If you do, however, you'd need to get Nokia to replace it under warranty. Once the warranty is finished, you'd more than likely be able to get a battery online and replace it manually, but this would be an involved procedure and like you say, you never had to replace the batteries in your past phones.
