for some reason this is the size it came out. I resized in Nokia Camera.
I'll have to try it again I want to play with the controls again see if I can get a better pic but not bad for the 1st try.

Its the size it came out because thats the max size (and its blurry) after you cropped the rest of it out.
I've tried many a time to take sky pics or moon pics. Never got anything that's remotely close to my standards but then neither is anything a point and shoot would take.

When I set ISO to 100, I was using about 1/1000 or 1/1250 shutter speed. I didn't get the detail in the first post though. I saw on another thread for a different Nokia using ISO 400 and 1/400 shutter. So I'll try moving up the ISO scale and see what I get. Now that I have a camera that can actually take a good shot of the moon, I really want one! :-) I also picked up cheap $10 telephoto lens off of amazon for cell phones, (8x) so I want to try that out on the moon as well. Kinda hard right now, since nighttime has been hitting 0 Fahrenheit (-15ish C?). So I don't want to stand still outside trying to get a good shot!

That has been the standard bar for me, in cell phone cameras. I have been utterly fascinated with capturing the best moon shot I possibly can!

I plan on being out there tonight, as well...I've gotten pretty good, although the only thing that I DO find stifling about long distance picture taking, is the lack of being able to focus from such a distance...as much as post-processing will turn out the best images from ANY phone out there, having a zoom before the fact is certainly easier to fine tune focus...

I too have been using ISO100, with anywhere between 1/1250 - 1/800 shutter.

Yeah I took this through my telescope on a clear December night. ISO 200, 1/1000s. EDIT: The shrunk photo looks terrible; click for higher-res.

    ISO100 1/400sec exposure
    Infinite focus
    Max Lossless Zoom
    5 mega pixels

Before L1020 the only way to shoot the moon with all the features in the right exposure was through DSLRs.

if you need to use anything other than infinite focus to take a picture of the moon you're doing it wrong...

I found that my infinite zoom is messed up. I finally got a comparable shot to these by focusing on a nearby house, then aiming at the moon and shooting. Manual infinite focus was blurrier.
