Is there any way to get the 1020 to work on Verizon's LTE network

    No

Two basic technologies in mobile phones, CDMA: Verizon Wireless, Sprint, MetroPCS, Cricket, and U.S. Cellular.
AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM, represent a gap you can't cross.

Not entirely true, you could use the 1020 on the new Verizon AWS LTE network, which has limited availability and would be data only for the time being (until Verizon allows Voice over LTE and the 1020 firmware is updated to support it).

That said, it's not worth it at this point. We are probably 2-3 years from truly cross compatible hardware

On the plus side, Verizon should be getting a 20 megapixel camera phone in the 929 in the next month or so
