Backing up 1020 RAW files

Hi all.

I am at my wits end trying to work out how to back up the RAW files from the Nokia 1020 to an external hard drive.

When I use the windows phone app on my Mac computer it always converts it to a jpeg file. Even if I drag the file to the desktop.

When I copy it to iPhoto, then try and export the original Raw file it exports a jpeg. Even if I tell it to export original.

It appears that iPhoto is using the RAW file becasue there is no jpeg written at the end of the file name, plus the file looks smooth when enlarged in iPhoto

When I export it to Lightroom it uses the jpeg also.

What program, other than iPhoto can I use that works on the actual RAW file?

and how can I back up just the RAW file for later use? Because I don't want to keep all my photos in iPhoto simply because I would run out of disk space and beside iPhoto isn't the best image editing program going around.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You can use Nokia Photo Transfer tool which will export it all to finder. Then you can access them via whatever you want
