    Hello there everyone!

I have question to ask about the screen of the 1020.
Previously on my Lumia 800's AMOLED, blacks were ABSOLUTELY black, like they should be on an AMOLED panel.
However, on my 1020 i have noticed that screen isn't completely black when it is displaying black colour.
It is unnoticeable in daylight, but in darkness if I open an absolutely black image on the 1020, I notice that the screen isn't completely black.
This is kind of worrying me. Is my 1020 defective?
Please do try this with your own 1020 in a dark/pitch black environment.

PS.: here's how to get an absolutely black image: Go to store>Fantasia Painter Free. Install it.
When you open the app, the first image it opens up is black and ready for painting. Instead of drawing anything, go ahead and directly save that image.
    Then go to Photos>Albums.
It will be the last photo there. It is invisible if you have your theme set as
Dark, so instead of trying to find it, tap to the right of the last image. Then you'll have that absolutely dark image on your phone.

Please do tell me the results you get.

Are you sure? Is there absolutely ZERO light coming out of the black area on the screen?

Even Samsung does not use totally dark/black amoled`s as the time it takes to power up the pixels causes problems with moving images, lots of thread on the Samsung forums about this.

Anybody know who makes the amoled led screen on the 1020, are Samsung and LG still the only manufactures?

    Thanks for the link.
It seems as if it is intentional by Nokia. As a poster there pointed out, the screen is kept from going absolutely black so as to reduce the time it takes to light up pixels.
Maybe it is required for the Puremotion technology, or it is so just to avoid screen burn in.
