Smart to buy used 1020 now?

I have a Lumia 920 that I dropped pretty quickly after getting it last year. Finally replaced the screen and I've been having some issues with it so am looking to replace it with either a 920, 1020 or 1520 (or just wait and deal with it). Other than knowing my next phone will have a case from day 1, I've always been interested in the 1020 because of the camera (duh!) but am concerned about paying the $150-200 premium for a used 1020 and being disappointed since I'm coming from the 920. I'm also wondering how much better the 41 MP camera is on the 1020 versus the 20 MP on the 1520, as both are usually about the same price. Any ideas or tips as to what I should do? Unfortunately, money is a concern, so whichever phone I get will likely be my main phone for at least the next 18 months. Thanks!

I'd wait If you can still use it little longer. Rumors are around that HTC and others are about to announce w8.1 devices and 930 and others are coming. The hold up is the release of 8.1 which should drop anytime. I think it will drop in June. Just my opinion. Then we will hear and see more devices. Also what carrier are you with. I'm in same boat as you I have 925 running 8.1 developers preview. I love it. But want a 5 - 5.5 inch screen. I tried the 1520 but after a day took it back the screen was just little to big for me and without being able to do several things in split screen seemed weird on large screen like you can do with tablet or galaxy note 3. Fingers crossed. Unless you really need one maybe get used one off Craigslist or something to hold over.

I'm with AT&T, I'll likely stick with only a Nokia phone for the future. I would idealy want more in a 1520, basically Windows RT on it and I would get it in a second. I keep on hearing misinformation about the 930 and whether we are getting it. I guess if we are, that might drop the prices of the 1020's, which are already about $100 less than they were 2 months ago.

I have a 920 and a 1020, and the 1020 camera really is amazing even compared to the high quality on the 920. I've been super impressed with the 1020 camera. I bought a new one off contract for $459. So if something comes out in a year I can switch no problem. In a year the phone will still probably be worth some decent money used, and/or can be a high quality digital camera to carry around even if not being used with cell service.

Thats way more than I'm looking at unfortunately. I've found used 920's for $135, and used 1020's for $250-300. Half of me is saying to just use a 520 for phone use and have the current 920 around for photos when I need it too.

Don't know if I would buy a used phone for 250-300 vs a brand new one for 459. You should just wait till contract is up or get the $45 520 from amazon with no contract.

I came from the 920 and bought a slightly used 1020 off ebay (came with a wallet case and camera grip for $310), before that I was thinking of waiting for the 930. If you like the size of your 920 the 1020 is perfect, buth if your the guy needing to get a new phone every year you probably want to wait. I see myself having the 1020 until windows phone 9 with as good as, or better camera comes around.

Spending $200 more for a new phone unfortunately won't work, no budget for that. Looks like the prices are coming down a bit so I'll likely just wait for them to hit under $250 for a good example and hope my 920 is still worth $100 at that point.
