Certainly I would like to know what parts of Denim apply to the 1020, however I think it will be months before that is clarified.

    1. the gimmick with 4K is that same gimmick as with a 41 MP camera; loss-less zoom after the fact. No, we won't upload and show 4K video generally, but we can pan and zoom it to make a better 1080 video. Just like we can zoom/reframe our 5Mp shots. An 8Mp burst mode would still be appreciated!

    2. "FullHD Moment capture for 24 seconds" is irrelevant to the 1020; It can do 1080p recording at 30 fps currently. I use Movie Maker app to pull specific frames to capture baby moments. yes it is progressive not interlaced.

    3. The Camera does ~40Mp every ~4.5 seconds currently;Less than 10 Mp/second. The HD video is 1920x1080x30 fps; about 60 Mp/second. *If* the 60 Mp is practically a limit to output, there is still hope to improve shot to shot time, possibly down to 1 second or less. Sure there are excuses why this might not happen; pureview 'processing' etc., but 60 Mp/second might not be the limit either. Nokia mentions 'over 1 billion pixels /second' of processing for the full HD video, so who knows what the real limit to the phone is. That infers it is processing ~34 Mp for every frame of HD video.

I had seen a demo of 4k video on a 4k screen where they did split screen of 4k vs. 1080. It was not very noticeable for me until the video scrolled by newspaper clippings, at which point the text on the 4k was easily readable and the text at 1080 was hard to decipher. So 4k is noticeable in some situations but not always.

    Atleast for me.

It seems the features on the software that support the new Denim firmware rely on multiple shot from the camera in order to gain the desired effect. If the shot to shot rate of the 1020 just can't keep up with the scene, it's in MS best interest not to make them available. Rich capture mode relies on two photos, one with and one without flash. If the scene changes too much between the two shots, the results will be terrible. For those who understand the hardware/software limitations, it may be acceptable, but for casual users it could lower opinions of Windows phone.

Just imagine someone saying to a potential Lumia buyer "my friend has the Lumia 1020 which has the best camera on windows phone, he kept trying to take pictures the other night and it didn't work. My Galaxy S5 blows it away." Sure the guy saying that may have been drunk, trying to mug the camera and moving in and out, but his opinion fair of not could influence peoples opinions of the entire product line.

The 1020 may be very good at what it does, but if it does not work well with the new software, then it's best it does not get it.
