Why is 8.1 draining the battery on Lumia 1020?

How many hours of battery life are you getting? You can try going to settings > battery saver > swipe right and set apps to now allowed to run in background. Also, turning off batery saver helps with conserving battery. Unpinning cortana from start screen as well.

I have the same issue. I used to get almost 2 days with medium usage. Last night battery drained about 15% an hour.

My battery drained from 100% to 54% this night. I'm tired of this.

Some time ago there was an awesome thread about how to conserve battery life on the 1020. Try hard reset or recalibrating the battery by draining it then turning it on then draining, repeating until completely drained. Then do about six times.

What worked for me I think was removing my interests from Cortana. Of course hard reset and battery drain helped with calibration too. Went from 6% idle discharge rate to less than 2%.

My drain is unstable - last night I lost 50%, as mentioned earlier, but most nights I only lose about 10-15%. I'll try removing the interests and see if that helps.
