    Looks like you will be able to use it in Japan, the bands listed on Microsoft.com for india are:


    • GSM network: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz
    • WCDMA network: Band 1 (2100 MHz), Band 2 (1900 MHz), Band 5 (850 MHz), Band 8 (900 MHz)

    I am planning a trip to Japan. Does anyone know if the 1020 att us version unlocked will work in Japan? My son recently went to Japan and Here Maps was useless in Tokyo. He had to use google maps.
