revert windows 10 back to windows 8 mobile

Hi,

Disappointed with the speed of the camera with win10 installed on my 1020. I am sure back in the win8.1 days, it was a lot faster! Am I making that up?

If so, how can I revert it back? I tried that microsoft recovery tool, but it still win10.

TBH, most of the apps (that I would use) have disappeared or discontinued, so I am not that bothered with lack of app support on win8.1 Going back to basics - just a damn phone and a good fast camera!

Hi, the 'Windows Device Recovery Tool' is the only way back to WP8.1.
Just a quick question for you, how did you upgrade to Win10m on your Lumia 1020?
If you did the registry hack where your phone was renamed to a different model, then you may have to change it back to a Lumia 1020.

ah good point. I did do a reg hack to fool it to be like a 950xl. darn, thats why I can't get it back to win8.1 Thanks for the heads up charlatan1978

Whether you've spoofed or not, Windows Device Recovery Tool (WDRT) will download and install the latest version of the package (that contains Windows Phone 8.1) related to the CTR writed from the DPP. So, for Lumia 1020, WDRT will not download and install Windows 10 Mobile.
