I had to make that decision... 1520 or 1320...
I decided for the 1320...
I also have and use HTC One max every day, along with my HTC One. But I love WP for its keyboard, games etc.
I wanted something with a big display, I still have my Ativ-S.
I compared the display of my One max to the 1520... The 1520 display really lacks brightness and for the price the viewing angles are lacking.
But on a Phablet the display and the audio are the most important things along with battery life.
Then I looked st the 1320... I mean, for the price the display delivers just fine... It does what I was looking for at reasonable cost.

At normal viewing distance (15-20 inches), do you find any difference in pixels or clarity between htc one max and lumia 1320? My primary uses are casual reading and browsing and very less gaming, for that I find lumia 1320 really good.

Yes, I see a difference. You see, when you have a phablet, you often lay it on the table, bed etc. Here the One max really beats the 1520 when you are indoors. Even the 1320, remains usable when laying in front of you. The 1520 is really hard to read when laying in landscape mode in front of you.

Also go look at the quality issues list of the 1520... Imho, the 1320 is a safer bet. Pay less, less risk, 8Gb + microSD is fine for the price. My device works fine.

Don't know about the 1520,
But i have no regrets that i bought the 1320.
Its a nice little handset, a tiny bit bigger than the 520 i used to.
But with a cover its not very compfie to hold it in your hands while playing a game.

Ony more question, not sure it belongs to this thread. Do you 1320 owners apply screen guards on the display for protection? If so which ones do you use ? Thanks.
