Keys in a pocket with these screens is a sure way to scratch it up. I did that once by accident on a Lumia 920.

I've seen other phones come out perfect after getting ejected onto asphalt.

I wouldn't say sure way. I've had these Lumias in pockets with keys before and no issues. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Does the box show the cell phone bands it supports? I'm wondering if the AT&T variant is penta-band for use on tmobiles 1700/2100 3g network. I know it won't be unlockable for a little while, but it's something I've been looking for

Unfortunately, AT&T's outer packaging of the 1520 is very sparse on details. The only info printed is general package contents (i.e. "Nokia Lumia 1520, USB charger", etc...), AT&T's "4-Star Eco-Rating", and some legal copyrights. Even the screen size isn't listed on the box.

However, Nokia U.S.'s specifications page for the AT&T 1520 shows the supported bands as:

Data Network
.LTE network bands: 2, 4, 5, 7, 17.
.LTE max data speed DL: 150 Mbps .
.LTE max data speed UL: 50 Mbps .
.WCDMA network: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz.
.WCDMA max data speed DL: HSDPA - 21.1 Mbps .
.WCDMA max data speed UL: HSUPA - 5.76 Mbps .
.GSM network: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz.
.GSM max data speed DL: EGPRS 236.8 kbps .
.GSM max data speed UL: EGPRS 236.8 kbps

Thanks for the info.. All i can do now is hope T-Mobile gets a variant eventually. Unfortunately this is unlikely.

i have one query... how good are the blacks? as good as the lumia 800/925/928/amoled displays?

my only complaint!

The blacks aren't as deep as say, my 1020 was. However, I don't really ever notice it unless I'm actually trying to. It isn't a big deal to me, though.

Side note: this thing is an incredible porn machine.

Just want to also mention that the battery life so far seems great. Not good, but great. Keep in mind I turn off NFC and disable SOME background tasks, but I do have some live tiles updating in the background

Is Data Sense present?
And how do previous laggy games (Spider-Man, Batman, Asphalt 8) play on it with the Snapdragon 800 and 2GB RAM?

I never played those games on other phones so i wont be able to make a proper comparison, but I'll give them a shot on the 1520 and see if I notice any lag when I get home
