I currently have an HTC HD7 which I bought from O2.
I got the unlock code from them a while ago and am now using it with a Tesco SIM.
Switching to the Tesco SIM didn't disable the "Internet Sharing" option.

My girlfriend also switched from O2 to Tesco but her iPhone 4S lost the tethering option when using the Tesco SIM.
(Maybe it's just a restriction on iPhones?)

When asked they said they don't offer tethering.

Aside from obviously trying my Tesco SIM in a 1520, is there any way to know in advance if I'll lose that option please?

After a short bit of research online I was able to determine that it is against Tesco's policy to allow tethering. Apparently with iPhones they've locked it out so that's why the iPhone can't tether. Since it's possible for carriers to do this with WP8 it's possible it may not work with your 1520.

Tethering or internet sharing has nothing to do with the capabilities of the phone or OS, it's up to the carrier. You may be able to tether still but if Tesco believes that's what you're doing you may be charged extra for it.

I'm currently on Virgin on a SIM only monthly rolling contract for ?15/m with unlimited everything. It's only 3G but I have no issues doing what I want. :)
