I was wondering if there's gonna be problem on 4G network reception because the phone lacks 2100 frequency. Both T-Mobile USA and AT&T uses 2100 frequency on their 4G network. What's your thoughts/opinions on this? I looked at the pictures of the box and I didn't see "2100" printed on the LTE section. It has 1700 but no 2100.
Someone correct me I'm wrong. If you see 1700 on the box, 2100 is implied. If you only see 2100 on the box, 1700 isn't implied. As long as you see AWS or band 4, it should be fine on T-Mobile. Most of the reviews on this phone have been verifying that it does work on T-Mobile with no issues.

I just bought my Nokia Lumia 1520.3 (RM-938) 700, 850, 1900, AWS1700/2100 LTE bands, 32GB, built-in Qi wireless charging Unlocked version (from Newegg) a week and a half ago. NOTE: Newegg's website list the storage incorrectly as 16GB instead of 32GB that this model has. Winning!!!

This may have been posted before, but I thought I would post an update on the prices I see.

Newegg's price is $624.99. Use the $25 coupon code CEWK880. This brings the total price to $599.99.

Negri's price is $657.50. Possibly use coupon code NE20OFFCART. This brings the total price to $637.50.

Newegg is the way to go if you're looking to save some cash. I'm not sure of any other sites that sell unlocked phones.

I just can't bring myself to buy this, since my unlocked AT&T 920 is still holding on strong!!

I hear ya. My 920 still works like new. But I needed a phone for my office so justification was found. Keep searching you will discover reasons to spend 600.

I cant get tethering to work on my 920 either. I rarely if ever use that feature, so it isn't a big deal for me. It would be nice if I could get it to work.

And Newegg just sold out of the white. They answered email and said they're not sure if they'll get more stock. Guess I waited too long waiting to get my rm-940 sold. :( At least there's still negri!

Same situation here... wanting to upgrade my 920 but it's hard to justify with it working so perfectly. Would like a slightly smaller screen than the 1520 ideally but the 930 was a huge disappointment for me so that's not even being considered.

Looking at the phone on NewEgg/Negri
    GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz
    UMTS 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz
    4G Network LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600

Looking at the 16GB version on ATT.COM
    3G - UMTS 850/900/1900/2100MHz
    GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900MHz
    4G HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul
    4G-LTE Bands 2, 4, 5, 7 and 17

Doing some reading, it appears Band 17 = 700MHz?

what drives me crazy is when a new phone comes out there is always something missing like wireless charging. If it has wireless charging it has 16 gigs of storage or it doesn't have something else. Looking at these international phones looks like its dictated by the carrier.

newegg's info is all wrong! the phone that's listed as a quad band is actually pentaband. the 1520.3 that's listed on newegg is an undercover unicorn.

also the bands that are specific to tmobile is the "1700_2100" band. this isn't the same as 1700mhz or 2100mhz. the reason its listed as 1700_2100mhz is because it uses BOTH bands simultaneously in order to get better speed, and more reliability.

the 1520.3 that ships from newegg has the 1700_2100mhz band listed CLEARLY on the side of the box. make no mistake, this phone FULLY SUPPORTS TMOBILE. I know because I purchased one!

Just ordered the 1520 last night from newegg. At first I purchased a 1320 to try out but with the lack of a high end camera and wireless charging I went for the best and I'm returning the 1320. I'm actually trying out a S5 now but I feel underwhelmed with the experience. I love the WP setup and I don't think I can go back. My only hesitation with the 1320/1520 is the size... As I said the biggest device I have is the S5 and it feels very nice in hand.

Well guys, this Lumia 1520.3 just got better!! Just finished upgrading to Windows Phone 8.1 through the Developers Preview program. IT'S AWESOME!!! After the install I checked to make sure it didn't mess with the WiFi tethering hack and it still works fine...no reason not to update!

Please read post #17 of this thread. You are mixing bands with downlinks/uplinks. A band to work properly needs uplink and downlink. To diferentiate between bands, to each band a number is assigned and a lot of times a common freq. descriptor is used, which comes either from the uplink freq. or either from the downlonk freq. With all that said, you need to look at bands to understand a compliance with a certain carrier. To best of my knowledge, neither T-Mobile or ATT uses band 1 (2100) on 3G, fake 4G or LTE.

    T-Mobile and ATT bands

EDIT: And yes, 2100 MHz is the downlink frequency of band 4, which T-Mobile uses on WCDMA and LTE, and has nothing to do with band 1 (the name of the band 1 is 2100 MHz too). Vendors like Nokia list compliance to bands and not to downlinks or uplinks. Whatever they write on the box (to tell us on which carrier the phone can be used) is compliance to bands and not to some combination of downlinks/uplinks. So if 1700 is written in the WCDMA section that means it would work on T-Mobile on 3G, and if 2100 is written it means it would work in some country in Europe on 3G. The same explanation is for LTE, 1700 would signify compliance with T-Mobile, but 2100 would mean no LTE on T-Mobile but it would work in some country in Europe.

Just played around with my 1520.3. Coming from my L920 the camera didn't seem too different. I kept all the plastics on so I got the occasional blurry photos from the 1520. But the zoom itself during interface actually zooms less than my L920 [although the quality doesn't get shot to ****]. Then again, i was only viewing both on the phone, and haven't uploaded any of the test photos to compare the 2. Theoretically the 1520 is capable of 2x zoom over the L920. The difference is much more noticeable while recording a video.

I just got my 1520 this past weekend from Negri Electronics, and yes, mine is slightly pink in color. The old me would be really irked by this but I'm learning to let small things like this go. I also see a small hole-like ding at the bottom of the phone where the glass meets the bezel. I'm also telling myself to let this go. It's super small and kinda looks uniform, almost like it was supposed to be there.

That ding is a slit for the mic.

Yeah it doesn't bother me too much, but knowing my L920 was more white does irk me a little as well.
I too thought that slit was a defect until I realized it was for the mic. Which is weird considering the L920 didn't have the slit (it was built into the holes by the speakers)
