    Ordered a black 1520.3 from B&H today. Can't wait.

Going to be using my $30 a month T-Mobile plan.

I did a little more testing and it was definitely that solitaire game that made my phone heat up. It didn't get quite as hot as the day I first experienced it, but still very noticeable. I'm not a gamer so I don't know if that is something that is happening with other apps. I'd be curious to know if any of you are experiencing the same. On another note, I had my first spontaneous reboot this morning while in a twitter app. I hope that isn't something that becomes a regular occurance.

I experience the same with the unit heating up while playing solitaire.

An update--I downloaded a different solitaire game and it plays fine with NO heating issues. So this is specifically about the Microsoft Solitaire Collection--deleted.

EDIT: I went to write a review on the app and discovered that the overheating is a VERY common complaint.

I get an errant tap now and then...not nearly enough for me to put it in the "dreaded" class. I've trained myself to have a very light touch when trying to swipe.

This 1520 really does epitomize love/hate relationship for me. When I'm typing with terrific accuracy, streaming live sports with nary a hit on battery life, etc. I'm in love and think this is the greatest smartphone to date, without question. When the swipe/tap bug starts acting up I think "oh dear, when is the 930 coming out? Will there be an LTE-compatible version? How much can I get for my 1520.3?" Maybe I'm just bi-polar lol.

On a related note, I've found that restarting the phone does ease the issue a bit if it's been especially bad.

This thing is glorious. Got my Incipio Feather case at the same time too.

    Installing WP 8.1 now.

This looks identical to the Nillkin Matte Hard Cover case.

I see. Well never mind then. I have the Nillkin in white. Hate it now. It's so dirty and it won't come clean.

I don't know if the texture is the same or not. I thought the Nillkin was a little slippery, and I like a little more of a raised edge on the front.

My Nillkin wasn't slippery at all. It was soft and matte white. Here's my new one I just got today from Finland. It has that lovely leathery smell.

Well, rats, my Internet Sharing isn't working. The phone shows that it's on, and the iPad shows it's getting a signal, but everything I try times out. I have 5GB of sharing with my plan and I'm not close to that. I'd call T-Mobile but I'm guessing as soon as I tell them I have the 1520, they'll start singing the "not supposed" tune.

Check your DNS settings on your iPad to make sure it's auto populating instead of a manual entry.

Also try another device to tether.

I cycled power on the iPad and all is well. Phew! That's a relief. There are some things (like participating in this form) that are SO much easier on a tablet than the phone.

Here's a pic of my Nillkin case. It's a rather hard plasitic, and the back has a grain that you feel if you run a fingernail across it. I like the way it looks, and the fact that there are cut outs for the buttons. I'll give it a trial for the day.imageuploadedbywpcentral-forums1403273094.210654.jpg

Is it pretty much a "scratch reducing" thing? Any other major benefits?
    06-20-2014 06:54 PM

I think the benefits are the minimalist nature of the case, and a raised edge that protects the camera lens. The down side, at least to me, is that the edge is almost flush with the screen, so there's very little protection for a face-down drop. I also don't think the grip is as sure as the Incipio NGP. I have it on now mainly because I like the way it looks. I suspect I'll eventually go back to the Incipio.

I should also mention the Nillkin comes with a screen protector, but I quit using those years ago.

I found this random bug that's not really a big deal to me. I charge my phone wirelessly but when I travel I usually charge it the old fashioned way. If I try to use my phone keyboard while the phone is charging with wires, it's like it's possessed and some ghost is typing on your keyboard. You really can't do anything until you unplug it. Anyone else see this?

I am a t-mo customer in Ga. I had to hard reset my phone over the weekend. I was unable to get internet sharing working with the Spanish keyboard trick no matter what I tried. The only thing that worked was using the Nokia recovery tool to send it back to 8. After getting sharing up, upgrading to 8.1. Do you think the cyan update will fix internet sharing without the keyboard trick? Or worse, prevent the recovery tool to sending you back to 8 so if you reset, there is no way to get internet sharing working again? Thoughts?

Sure has turned quiet in Unicorn land. My main observation after nearly three weeks with the phone is that data speeds don't seem to be as good as they were with my Note II. The good thing is that they are still more than adequate for what I do. I'm still able to stream audio and video at my desk at work with the help of the signal booster from T-Mobile, and it works fine around town. I don't do as well when I run speedchecks, but as long as it works in real world situations, I don't care. I am getting the "tap instead of swipe" problem from time to time, but I consider it a minor rather than major annoyance. As far as the two previous post go, I haven't charged the phone other than via my Qi chargers so I can't respond to that. And I'm sorry to hear about the Internet Sharing problems. I REALLY rely on that here at work because my iPad with a USB keyboard is a lot easier to use than the phone. I hope it's not an issue with Cyan.

Last note--I decided to jump on a Square Trade deal yesterday, and bought at 2-year warranty for $87. I wouldn't have done it if I was totally confident we had a one-year manufacturer's warranty we could count on, but that seems to be a little ambiguous. Better safe than sorry in this instance. Buy a MotoG for a replacement is NOT an option. :-)

I've noticed that Wi-Fi speeds aren't as good as my 5G iPod Touch. The iPod can pretty much max out my Wi-Fi connect speeds while the 1520.3 struggles to get more than 25Mbps.
