I am looking to switch to 1520 from Samsung s3
. My question is does unlocked 1520 will work on T-Mobile or no.
In two weeks hopefully new windows phones will be announced and something along the likes of ion comes on T-Mobile . For those who are using 1520 daily is it too big to use ..

It was big for a day, then it became the reason why i love it more. The screen size and display really shines. With all the rumored specs of upcoming wp8.1 models none seems to top 1520. I got the international version so i have wireless charging 32gb and sd card. I would only upgrade for a better camera.

Is the camera on 1520 that bad compared to 1020 . As better camera will be one of my reasons to switch from s3 as s3 camera sucks in low light.
Don't know what phones will be announced at build in few weeks , hopefully something better comes around .

I just got my 1520 unlocked and am using it on T-Mobile without apparent issues (beyond those introduced by AT&T, meaning lack of wireless charging, Data Sense and WiFi calling). Had I to do it again, I'd probably go for the RM-938 on offer at Negri Electronics.

I have seen my unlocked 1520 operate on Edge, "4G" (HSPA+) and LTE on T-Mobile. My understanding is that without HSPA+ AWS support, you'll only see 4G (not LTE) in those areas that have been "refarmed," and most of the areas that have been refarmed seem to have done so to make way for LTE, so it's pretty much an LTE or Edge proposition. The advantage of the RM-938 is allegedly that it'll do HSPA+ even in non-refarmed areas.

Is it too big to use?

Not for me. The one big downside that I've run into is that it's too large to fit into the pockets of my suit jackets, but beyond that, I'm quite happy with the size. With a ProClip car mount, it's a much better GPS display than a smaller screen. And, I've had little/no trouble operating it one handed.

Part of the appeal for me is that my aging eyes appreciate the larger screen and bigger letters.

No, the camera is not that bad compared to the 1020. Obviously you don't get the full 41 megapixel resolution, but I haven't seen another phone that takes pictures as good as the 1520 outside of the 1020. Low-light shots are amazing as are normally lit scenes.

As for the size issue, like hyperthermia said, it was big for a day, now it just feels normal. I came from a 920 then a 1020, and this is the perfect size for me, after thinking they were the perfect size for me. This is a brilliant phone, and considering it has the same internals as the Lumia 2520 RT Tablet, there are a lot of things that can be done with this phone when WP 8.1 drops.

The crispness of the screen, and it's viewing angles is probably one of the best things about this phone. But then, also tack on the SD card slot and you've got a multimedia powerhouse as well as damn fine work phone as well.

I use the RM-937 on T-Mobile, and my 3G speeds are about 8MB down (which is what my wife gets with LTE on Aio, for what it's worth). I find the size easy to live with now, and have started to dislike the feel of smaller phones.

It's not a "bad" camera at all -- it may be the best in a phone other than the 1020.

I just got mine today and it is huge. It dwarfs my LG G2 setting them side by side. With that said, wow is it nice to be able to see things, and have things synced between my devices. I haven't really played with it hard since the battery needed charging, but coming from a 920 I already knew what to expect. I find myself picking it up more and more as I get used to it. It also fits in my cargo shorts pocket and doesn't weigh much more than my G2. I have the 16Gb ATT, but it has a SD slot so not worried about storage.

i got mine two weeks ago, at first day 1520 was big but i used to it fast.
when i holded my previous phone htc one, i felt that htc one was so small..... (belongs to my brother now)
i never want to go back to smaller phones! only 5.5+ or 6+ inches :)

I've been using mine for four months now. My previous device was the Lumia 920. My only beef is the lack of cases. That will likely change.

Oh, and AT&T should be whooped for not releasing wireless charging and at least 32 GB.

I am editing my opinion, played with it for a couple of hours, too big, can't handle with one hand and seems drop prone because of this, going back.

My fiancee who is 5'2" with smaller than average hands uses a 1520 as her daily driver. The phone hasn't seen a drop in the 4 months we've had it.

Not only is the 1520 screen better for aging eyes, it is much healthier for younger eyes. Even though I don't have a phablet yet, I've decided to turn the tables on iPhone users by saying "man, that thing looks SMALL." Times and preferences are constantly evolving and larger screen smartphones are starting to hit their stride.
