Hello everyone
I am in a small problem and of advice

Should I buy the 1020 (41 mp 32gb no SD card 4.5" screen)
Or the 1520 (20mp 32gb+SD card 6")
Price is almost the same...

Switching from iPhone 4s
So camera will be better and screen is bigger...

Re: 1520 or 1020?

Those phones are very different. Both niche devices. So do you want an awesome camera with a good screen, or an awesome, huge screen with a good camera?

Yer choice.

My choice would be the 1020 solely for the camera.
What do you mostly use your iPhone for?

Well the 1520 does have a more powerful processor and a much larger battery, but on the other hand it may be too large for you to use comfortably... Apart from the camera on the 1020 (1520 is still excellent) the 1520 is better in every conceivable way as long as it isn't too large.

Re: 1520 or 1020?

I own a 1020. Incredible camera, great reception and call quality, a solid minimalistic architecture. It feels and function like a flagship phone.

My brother just bought a 1520. A sleeker looking phone without the bump in the back. Screen is larger, higher resolution and feels even better than 1020. OTOH, the camera is good but not at the same level as a 1020.

Either one will make most people happy, but if super hi-res images are not critical go with the 1520.

Thanks everyone
I put my hand on a LG CURVE. So 6" isn't a problem
But puting such a big next to the head is weird
So I think a 4.5" is good...

If you can get used to the size of the phone then you are good.. The 1520 is a beautiful device.. I could not pass up the size..

Re: 1520 or 1020?

I have both the 1020 and 1520. The 1520 is my main device, but the 1020 is my backup. I was afraid I would feel silly holding to my head, but now I don't care. When I am reading a book, using Zinio, surfing the internet, I am quite happy. It is a good way to start a conversation with people. People are always amazed it is a phone.

U have to phones that make people amazed,
Is there a really BIG difference between them in photo quality ?

And I guess that HERE drive is great on the 1520?

1020 is much better in low light but not sure how many low light pics you will take . 1520 is ok in low light , also keep in mind 1520 is big phone and you have to be careful carrying it and depending upon how you are planning on carrying it .
Its might be uncomfortable carrying in your pocket ..

Only advantage of 1020 is the camera.but its not that big advantage .1520 I dont think is inferior in good light pics. U can also take good low light pics ,maybe not as good as 1020.

Re: 1520 or 1020?

Hi,
i have used 1020 and now using 1520... i prefer going with 1520.
Reason: So simple.
High end processor, larger screen size, best battery backup, expandable memory card. Though 1020 have best camera, but battery in very normal so we cant play with camera for a whole day (without camera grip). Still 1520 camera is awesome for regular usage.

Re: 1520 or 1020?

Personally I think the 1020 is a step back from the 1520. Great camera, but it is slower and no sd support, which to me was shocking. You figure to put such a great camera on it, but yet gimp it on storage. If it came with a sd slot then it would have been my main choice. But no way am I going to burn up storage with limited space. If I was to go on vacation I would have pictures competing with apps, mp4's and mp3 space. Cloud storage may be great, but it uses data, and free wifi may be almost everywhere, but an unsecured wifi link isn't too smart on vacation. (Identity thieves look for vacationers first) So I want the 128GB MicroSD card and my 32GB 1520... As far as size, I use to own the Note 2 and sold it because I felt it a little large to carry around all the time. But for some odd reason the 1520 (Even though it is bigger) just feels right. It is big, and I could care less what others think.

How is the 128gb microSD working on your 1520? Interestingly, Nokia officially only recommends up to 32gb. Also, which one are you using? Have you noticed any problems recording videos onto it?

Re: 1520 or 1020?

1520 vs 1020 is my current dilemma!

I currently own a 1020 but I really do need/want a bigger screen and some extra storage. The camera is excellent but in all honesty I have not taken as many images as I thought I would :( That being said, The images I do have are awesome.

No problems with it yet, love the size so much, I ordered one for my Windows Tab too.

Sweet, keep us updated on how that works out. I've stuck with the official Nokia recommendation and bought two 32gb Sandisk Extreme Plus microSDs on sale at Best Buy for $39.99 each for the two 1520s I ordered. Picked them up at the store at lunch today as I'm expecting delivery of my L1520s this week. That should be more than enough for me given that I like to dump photos and videos onto my PC and free-up space on my mobile devices anyhow. Haven't reached capacity on any of my Lumia devices to date yet, though that's partly because I like to keep my 10gb or so of music on a separate MP3 player that I love.

Lol. Scaredy cat!

In all seriousness, the recommendations come out of testing at the time of publishing specs. Technology advances by the time things have sat in the market. For instance I have an SD card in my 808 that's well above "official" capacity, and it's been working without issue for a very long time.
