Does anyone know of a good alternative app for playing music other than xbox music?

Music Hub Tile is an app which looks exactly like WP8 music player. Im using it now instead of the current app.

Id rather have a functional app with a non transparent tile than an app which cant even load that does have a transparent tile.

Well then there is no pleasing you. You want to use a Preview for Developers which has a beta Xbox Music app and are unhappy with it, you are given an alternative and you don't want to use that one either cause you gotta pay 99cents for a transparent tile, or god forbid be stuck with a green one (oh the agony!). I guess you should try Nokia Mix Radio (not sure if that one has a transparent tile).

Music + is a good music app. It syncs the music from the app to the cloud and also you can download it.

The music app (green one with headphones) is truly disappointing on the 1520. Still, on WP 8.1, it seems it's designed for blind people.

Everything is oversized -- album art, song titles, etc. I can fit a whopping THREE albums on each page and can't even see most full song titles because the text is so big.

What a horrible use of screen space, and NOT A SINGLE OPTION to make things smaller. It looks like it was written by a high-schooler.
