I think the 1520 is good for another 2-3 years.

FullHD Display
Snapdragon 800 Processor
3400 mAh battery
32GB of internal storage
MicroSD Card slot

It's a VERY outstanding phone. If you could wait, then go. If you can't, the 1520 is a great phone.

If I get a 1520, I say it'll be with me until it breaks. The specs are just great.

It really is. The only thing I miss in the phones since my N82 is the camera shutter. There are already some scratches on my 1520 camera lens (nothing significant, but I'm afraid it can be worse in a year).

Yup. Unless MS makes a custom SoC then the 800 is one of the best available on the market now. There's the 801 but few phones use the 801, even fewer can truly take advantage of it. And let's not forget the 2GB of RAM, PureView camera and 1080p screen. A 1525 would be a very minor bump.

And if history has shown us anything, small numerical jumps means it's a carrier variant with few differences in hardware. For example, the Lumia 630 and 635 or Lumia 920 and 925. A Lumia 1525 would probably just be some sort of T-Mobile exclusive.

Well, i just bit the bullet and purchased a white Nokia 1520 RM 938 model. Can't wait to use it. I've been using a HTC One M8 as my primary phone and Android has been a pain to use honestly. Can't wait to get back to that smooth Windows Phone buttery goodness.

I'll likely use it as my weekend phone. But i do have a question for current users. Do you guys use your phone when running or working out? I use mine for that purpose and im a bit worried the phone may be to big. What say you?

A number of 1520 owners have posted that they use this with a good degree of success:

SPIbelt: The Best Running & Fitness Belt for iPhone | Water Pouch

Large pocket SPIbelt is the ticket for the 1520.

The Lumia 1520 is a stellar device and I would recommend going for it, unless you can wait.

The Windows Phone OS does not need a whole lot of power to run and runs extremely smoothly on the 1520, with that said however the Lumia 1020 is nearing end-of-life.

The 1020's end-of-life should essentially mean a new 41 Megapixel could be coming out soon, possibly 1525.

So, you decide.

I'm in the same boat as OP. Current N5 owner, but after 3 years with Android and it's half-baked apps and terrible Exchange ActiveSync, I'm ready to move on to WP Phablet status. I'm in love with the 1520 every time I go to the Microsoft Store, but since we're so close to EOY, it makes sense to wait for a refresh (if there is one). Who knows, maybe there'll be a Surface Phablet instead :)

I just grabbed a new 1520 yesterday, but no time to set up yet. Coming from L920

The reason I grabbed now 'cos I feared that the successor for L1520 may be a downgrade instead of upgrade as seen from the 5 and 6 series. :grincry: Maybe the SD card expansion will be gone! or worse still screen will be AMOLED sheeeeet

Haha if you think Android apps are half baked, wait till you try Windows Phone.
