The checksum is numbers and letters and an underscore (_) before the actual filename. I will try and give you a list of what the filenames should be later, if you aren't confident about what to rename them to....

Soooooo

Thanks Geddeeee :).
I thought my senses are kidding me since I installed Cyan via OTA (but with hard reset before).

I connected the phone to my pc and the recovery tool says in it's cryptic way that Cyan is available. Yes :D!
It's the 02061.00066.14253.40003 rom cause of it's Italien Vodafone Branding but it will the job...I hope ;). I don't want to change the country variant cause of some people reporting their LTE frequencys are forever gone.

The phone is charging it's battery right now. After this the party get started :].

Yeah.. You've got the idea!!!

The file called "NWP8_simlock_3gstandard_bb5_crcA59A.bin" is the only one that doesn't have to be renamed, as it's correct.
Good luck. If you get stuck.. give me a shout...

Excellent stuff. It's good that NSR now has the correct ROM for download. Makes life a lot easier!!!

I'm not 100% confident, slightly terrified I will bugger up the phone, but I'm willing to give it a try. Would this mean I get my update from Microsoft/Nokia and don't have to wait for O2 to check and send them?

Yes.. It would mean that any updates to the CV version ROM (these usually come earlier than the 'branded' ones) would be received by your phone...

So if i copy these files into that folder and then click restore on NCS it would use these files and restore it to a CV variant?

I've copied the files onto the folder location but NCS can't find it. :S how do I get it to see it?

OK.. try this:
Make sure phone is not connected to computer via USB and phone is turned OFF.

1 - Load up NCS and choose 'Product Support Tool for Store 5.0
2 - Choose 'Work Offline'
3 - In Product Support Tool program choose File>Open Product
4 - Type RM-937 in filter box
5 - Should show Lumia 1520 in list. Click Open
6 - Goto Programming > Recovery
7 - CV ROM should now show in list. No need to click 'Update'
8 - Click 'Start'
9 - After a while a window will show asking you to Retry
10 - Hold Volume Down on phone and plug in USB to computer. When phone vibrates, release Volume Down
11 - Click Retry
12 - Program should ask if you want to continue.. Something about incorrect product code. Click: Yes
13 - May also ask if you want to continue flashing with internal memeory (SD card). Again click: Yes
14 - ROM should now flash to CV one.....
15 - Enjoy!!!

Good luck...

No worries, matey....
At least you've gained a bit of knowledge. The guide on XDA is a bit confusing.. and a bit wrong in places. The way I showed you is way easier!!!

Looks like a simple enough process; great instructions. Now, this may be a stupid question... I'm in Italy with a Wind 1520 and service, will this work for me? Every other provider has released the 1520 OTA except Wind. My old Vodaphone 920 got 8.1+Cyan last month and love it. Tired of waiting on Wind.
