Simple question for you 1520 owners.

Previously I had the L920, which got few small sratches in just few weeks.

I then changed to the Ativ S, which I used for one and half years without any scratches appearing to the screen. And that phone was dropped many times, even on asphalt (lucky there I know). The whole housing of the Ativ was totally dent, but on the screen nothing.

To me its clear that the Ativ had stronger screen than the Lumia, but how about the L1520?

I wasn't after protectors (previously had Sony Xperia mini without huge problems), but on my Nokia Lumia 720 one unpleasant scratch appeared, and I am not even sure where it came from, not that it fell that I remember, so protector might not be a bad idea overall.

Tried the body guardz for 920. Installation wasn't fun and edges never laid down fully. Ended up removing, and just chancing it (two scratches since, in 4 months). Liked the material fine, but just hated installation and the edges.

L520 user since 4th February 2014. Not using guard. Of any kind. Whatsoever. But that maybe because I'm super caring about my phone. :D

I ordered a nillkin case for my 1520 and it came with one so I use it. With all that screen real estate I thought it be best to use it.

No screen protector on mine. It lives in my pocket with nothing else in there, but I've thrown it in my work bag a few times with a ton of crap in the same pocket and have had no issues.

Im not very careufull with my device. I use it so much that its always around somewhere. I dont want scratches on the screen like the Lumia 920 got fairly easily. Someone said though that in the L920 is actually isnt the glass, but some coating on it. The Ativ's screen was really like something else and I didnt have any problems using it without protector.

More comments about scratching etc are welcomed! Also if people have screen protectors, what youare using?

Don't have anything on my 925, doesn't mark at all. But I won't put it in the same pocket as keys or money.

I always use them but not for protection in first place. My primary goal with using (always) matte screen protectors is to lower reflections and allow smoother swiping. Of course the "normal" screen protectors are smaller than the glass because of the curved edges and require you to have experience when you align them. I personally recommend Dipos matte screen protectors. The also cover tiny micro scratches with their silicone layer.
The screen protectors from Extremeguard are the only one i know that cover the entire screen. They are applied wet and won't give you a headache worrying about dust or bubbles. But they feel like orange skin.

I like screen protectors when they installed perfect. Problem is, for every 10 I install, 9 will either get a spec of dust under it, a non removable bubble, or both ....then I hate the god damn things.

I don't like screen protectors at all. I have tried them on previous devices a few times and always removed them shortly after applying them. I carry my 1520 in my front pocket, but with nothing else in the pocket with it. I am pretty careful with my phone. I have a black Incipio feather case on it though to protect the back.

yes on my 1520 (and 810).

haven't found one for the 1520 that fits as well to the corners as I'd like though.

Armor Shield on front and back. Applied as the new 1520.3 was taken out of the box. Love it and it makes the phone grippy.

The corners on the back application are a nightmare though. Took an hour of pressing and rotating to get them to stick. The good news is when it dries it sticks very well. Love it.

I do not use screen protector. I do not care for small scratches. My only fear is a screen crash which I currently try to avoid with four rubber bumpers sticked on front corners of phone's screen

I got a screen protector for my Lumia 1020 soon after I bought the phone. The phone once fell from my hands on a staircase and it jumped all the way down and slid face-down on the last stair before coming to rest. I thought my screen should be dead. But my phone was perfect. The protector got plenty of scratches, but everything else was perfectly in order. I replaced my protector and everything is fine now. :)

I use screen protectors on everything mobile: laptops, tablets, and all phones (iPhone 4s, 920, 1020, 1520.)

I believe the small investment (from $3-20) warrants the protection. Resultantly, I have quite the collection of screen protectors from various manufacturers.

The 1520 has Gorilla Glass 2 like the 920. The 1020 has Gorilla Glass 3, which more resistant to scratches. My 920 suffered several small scratches on the screen despite adequate precautions. The 1020 has suffered no scratches.

While my 1020 is recently bare, I am taking no chances with my 1520.3. I currently use a tempered glass protector with my 1520.3 mainly because of the feel.

Your the second person to refer to the 1520.3 . What is the ".3" after the 1520 mean?

it's a variant of the 1520, I believe it's claim to fame is being unadulterated and fully compatible with T-Mobile and others (I could be wrong)

Like xandros9 was saying, it's an international variant of the 1520. As opposed to the AT&T version it comes with Qi charging and 32 GB of internal storage. It is also not tied to any carrier and in the US it works with both AT&T and T-Mobile (and whichever mvnos for both).
