AT&T 1520.2 - Field Test Mode

I didn't realize this before but there's a new field test mode for the AT&T 1520. It probably came with the Cyan firmware update. But since the AT&T branded Lumia 1520 doesn't have a way to change from 4g to 3g to 2g in cellular settings, it has to be changed using field test mode. Yesterday, I was in an area with crappy LTE so I used field test mode to switch to 3g. But instead of getting the usual 4g/3g/2g drop down menu, I was presented with checkboxes for which bands to enable and disable. There was a checkbox for HSPA 1700 which we all know T-Mo uses but it was unchecked. Unfortunately, I don't have a T-Mo sim to test if it works by checking the box but maybe someone else can if they're willing to risk it. Cool stuff!

Some phones have it disabled. As far as I know there is no way to re-enable it.

Well, my this thread was started by me on 11/11/2014. The thread you quoted was started on 12/03/2014, approximately 3 weeks after mine. Just saying...

Thanks, I will give this a try on my wife's 1520. Sadly it won't work on my 830.

This worked really well. She gets 4G in a number of places my 830 is limited to edge.
