ever since Cyan, every time i plug my phone into the 2.1 amp port, i get a "phone is charging slowly" prompt while surprisingly not getting this prompt using the 1 amp port.
Is there any charger that will charge faster?

It's your USB cable is my guess.. Using Nokia's cable that came with my 1520 works fine with a 2.1A port for me. Full speed charge. What you should look up on amazon is a quickcharge 2.0 charger. Very fast charging but tough to find since they are just starting to come out.

is there any confirmation on the compatibility of quick charge 2.0? I went on qualcomm's website and the 1520 isn't listed (no Nokia phone is). I don't want to buy yet another charger if it doesn't work

What model Nokia brand charger are you referring to? The highest amperage car charger I find is 1.0 Amps. The 1520 charges at 1.4A at high speed.

Don't be too obsessed with amperage output. Most are bull****s. I am using Nokia CR17 and it charges fine, while a third party charger claimed to have 2.1A can't. There were much discussion in this forum that a dedicated USB charge wire, and not those also used for data is a minimum requirement to ensure your device gets charged.

That's correct, a dedicated charge cable has the D+ and D- pins shorted at the micro USB plug and has no data transfer capabilities. This allows it to bypass the 500mA limit normally imposed by a standard USB sync/data transfer cable to deliver a higher charge rate.

A great charger I can truly recommend is the in house brand ones from RadioShack. I bought one for my 920 and it works great. My wife has a 1520 and always has it charged, but when she needs juice in the car, she uses that charger and works great. It does't give the low charge warning like other 3rd party 2.1 amp chargers. Well worth it I say...
