Trying to flash 1520. Using Lumia Care, or Software recovery, without success. Help, anyone

My issue is that I've downloaded and installed Phoenix, Care Suite, etc, but they all rely on a pre configured menu which does not have rm-937, and whilst I've downloaded the firmware, I cant get it to appear in any of the apps to flash. I gather from previous posts that people have flashed the 1520 with different varients. How did they do this?

I can flash with the same country variant, but not with an alternative, so the phone connection is ok, and recognised, but there seems to be no generic flashing process to just pick an appropriate package and flash the 1520
