Lumia 1520 Denim Camera 5

I have a doubt regarding the Lumia Camera 5 app in 1520/icon/930 with Denim.

With cyan we could save 5MP JPG + 16MP DNG image when saving in RAW format, but since the 1520 has a 20MP camera I think it can save a 20MP RAW file.

Is this enabled with Denim? Can we save 20MP RAW file with Lumia Camera 5?

The final image size is actually determined by the image ratio you choose. Shooting in 16:9 yields a 16MP image and 4:3 yields a 19MP (called 20 MP in advertising). The difference comes from the fact that the 16:9 image is just a crop of the 4:3 image. So if you want to use all those pixels, shoot in 4:3 then crop after if the image would look better in 16:9.

20 mp is the camera sensor "size" not the actual picture size.

Aspect ratio is determined by the hardware, the L1520 doesn't have two different sensors, or changeable anamorphic lenses, so one aspect ratio must be a crop (or digital distortion) of the other. Using the cross hairs and a tripod seems to confirm that the 16:9 is just a crop of the 4:3, as does the fewer number of MP used.

theefman. If you follow the link from Harrie-S there's another link that compares 16:9 to 4:3. And while 16:9 does use a slightly wider portion of the sensor I'll be sticking with 4:3 because I see very little additional width on the image using 16:9. So little in fact that I had never noticed the difference.

Nokia Lumia 1520 camera looks set for dual shot 16MP + 5MP mode

No it's not.
If you use 4:3 you use 19 out of the 20 mp of the sensor.
If you use 16:9 you use 16 out of the 20 mp pixels.

If you afterword's cropping a 4:3does not make the picture "better".
