Curious to hear peoples thoughts. I have a broken 1520.3 (rm-938) which of course has the asynchronous LTE antennae that I need to get LTE in Canada. The digitizer doesn't work and the battery won't charge. I have replaced the battery and still it won't charge. Having taken the thing apart a few times I can see there really isn't much that isn't modular and easily replaced. Should I buy a cheap used AT&T rm-940 and swap out the motherboard from the rm-938? I see used working rm-940s for around $250. Would the motherboard transplant give me a working rm-938? Thoughts?

probably NOT

- differences in wireless charging
- unless the RM 940 was the 32GB model, the standard AT&T RM 940 has 16GB onboard memory (storage)
- differences in supported bands - the RM 938 has the AT&T bands (and more), the RM 940 would probably be lacking the appropriate antennae / configuration
- are the Radios separate, or part of the MoBo ?

However, after saying all that (there are probably more, subtle differences), it just might be a solution worth attempting.
I'll assume you've gotten the service manual, already - the differences may be referenced there.
