Best Lumia 1520 WM10 version

I found myself without a phone as I ordered a new phone and sold my daily driver away so I picked up my dusty Lumia 1520 only to see that I'm on the Windows Insider program, Which version do you recommend I stop at for a daily driver? Is there a usable daily driver WM10 version for it?

Well the only one you can pick from is Slow Ring 10586 and Fast Ring 10586 so I guess there's no point in asking which version.

Its not too bad, a bit more quirky than I'd like (but then again I'm very picky with reliability at the moment) but you could probably live with it fine.

I'm on 10586 and it runs smoothly. Everything seems to be working great.

Well i installed it from windows 8.1 to windows 10 mobile 10586.11
Make sure u hard reset on 8.1 then install all the app updates then install windows 10 586

For me it works great but it needs a bit more polish. Animations stutter from time to time specially when going back to the homescreen which bothers me a bit. Going from some specific apps causes it more than others, such as Facebook Messenger, Photos and Edge to name a few. I don't really have any app crashed or anything no more since the latest app updates. Though it all feels a little rough overall, still.

I am running 10586 as well. Seems to work well for me (hard reset after installing), but battery life is pretty horrible. Messaging + Skype (though I haven't used Skype) seems to be the highest percentage user.

My messaging app is terrible. Sometimes I don't get texts. Slow and glitchy. This is before and after hard reset.

I'm now on 10586.29. On my 1520.3 I don't have Motion Data, Motion, Hey Cortana, nor Glance. I wonder if it's because I'm on 1520.3, since some other 1520?s say it's fine. Anyone?

Nah its not that, just luck.

If they aren't showing up and you tried installing them manually, perhaps a hard reset is in order.

Have you run the store updates and stuff?

Have you tried using SysApp Pusher?

Just upgraded my Lumia 1520 to build 10586 from 8.1 without hard reset. I just found out that the region is now locked. I can't change the language/region to US to activate Cortana/Quiet Hour. Is it possible to fix this? Thanks

I'm on 10586.29 with mine and it is working perfectly. I upgraded to .29 directly from 8.1

I'm using a red 1520 with .29 on it and everything works even hey Cortana. lot of people is having problems with their app because they are stored on there SD card and not the phone it's self

I'm on NL1520 W10M 10586.29. It works well after a hard reset. The battery life is not as good as WP8.1U2 but I accept this in exchange for the superior features of W10M. Everything seems to be working as expected.

Just figured out, if I take my SIM out, I can easily change the region/language back to US to activate Cortana/Quiet Hour. Unfortunately when I inserted my SIM card back, it will be locked back to its original language/region (Indonesian English) and deactivated Cortana. No such problem with my htc M8 as it is purchased in US from T-Mobile

I also have a 1520.3, and have the same problems and a few more. There is no solution yet, as soft resets, hard resets and the Windows Device Recovery Tool do not work. There are also suggestions to change regions or add/remove languages which also do not work. So, some 1520s may be fine on 10586, but I would recommend that no one with a 1520.3 upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile until you see these problems fixed.

I have a 1520.2 but the same exact issue no glance no hey Cortana and a few base apps that won't update , touch, motion, rate your device . Everything else is workable. Hey Cortana says voice activation is not available for your phone and after the latest glance update the settings disappear after a few seconds. I have been restoring after the updates. I wonder if I am restoring older glance and hey Cortana data which wasnt working in previous w10 builds? (update): Issue fixed motion data hey Cortana and gadgets working
