I love lumia, but now I'm stuck between choosing a note 4 and a 1520, I only love the stylus on the note 4.

I don't have mine yet, however I've seen someone use one in a review video. I don't see the use of one yet for Windows 10 Mobile like it is for the Note series. I don't expect those features until the Surface phone is released.

Is there a specific stylus for windows phones or you can just use any?

I have a 1520. I've never heard of using a stylus with it, certainly not as a pen similar to Surface pen. However, as a touch screen, I imagine you could get third party "stylus" and use it just like your finger.

Most of the touch screen functions on a Lumia 1520 can be accomplished using finger. However the only need of a stylus is if take notes or draw a lot on the phone. I haven't tried taking notes on my Lumia 1520 but have tried some painting on Fresh Paint using the below stylus. It is not so accurate but can be used for some very basic stuff (but it was quite sometime back).

Thing is, I take a lot of notes and I love drawing- so I guess I have no choice but to go for the note 4 then....

No, it does not support a stylus of the type the Galaxy Note has. Of course, you can use one of those things with a wobbly black tip if you like, but it only emulates a normal finger touch. If you need to hand-write and hand-draw then the 1520 is not for you, sadly.

I purchased a cheap one from ebay (No longer listed) Just a generic one and it's been great ;) Easily worth the pennies it costs!

But remember, it only works like your finger. The OP was asking about the type used on the Galaxy Note range, which is completely different; it has a hard tip and lets you draw and handwrite on the screen. You need a completely different kind of screen for that type, with a stylus digitizer.
