Hi Guys,

I believe this thread would be helpful for all the users of Lumia 1520 who have recently or either lately upgraded to WM10 and are facing issues and bugs so far as well as personal opinions about general performance after updating from Denim.

I hope we can report our issues and bugs and also find the solutions here.

I am having issues with proximity sensor, glance screen and double tap to wake up. Running the latest build. (windows 10...295...)..switched back to 8.1 everything working fine, stay there for more than 1 day, and updated to windows 10 again....and the issue reappear....switched back 8.1, everything is solved so surely its the windows 10....anybody is having same issue? any solution? I tried three times so far and evertime i have proximity issue with 10, but no issue with 8.1 , tried updating all glance etc apps...no luck....totally annoying.

I've been holding back on upgrading my 1520 to Windows 10 until I read more feedback from users on here. Thanks for this thread.

Not to get off topic, but I recently purchased (for a friend) a Lumia 1020 that had been upgraded to .164 and hard reset.

Having tried it out, the 1020 with Win10 runs smoothly and problem free. I am very impressed with the performance of it, as smooth as WP8 in my opinion. Glance works, double tap to wake works, battery life excellent.

Based on my good experience playing around with the 1020 & Windows 10, I've been tempted to upgrade my 1520. I would expect fantastic performance considering the Snapdragon 800.

Based on other comments that I've seen, I think that a hard reset is a fundamental step for best performance after the upgrade.

just started using latest build .1000, and all is well except the alarm. it is VERY quiet !! i can hardly hear it. all volumes are at 100% but i still can not get it to "turn up".

Cortana never worked on any version of Win 10 for me. The tile was just a frozen circle with no animation.
The battery going critically low and shutting the phone off was also a steadily growing problem.
Pretty sure a firmware update is needed.

I am running build 10586.164 and phone gets restarted after heavy texting on hike, messenger & WhatsApp. The app freezes and when i press the back button it restarts, happens once or twice a day,
PS: Now hearing a popping noise occasionally from the speaker when using whatsapp

I'm having issues with double tap to wake, after i restart my phone works for about 10 minutes lol after that it's just only work with a new restart and the same happens works for about 10 minutes so not bored to restart every 10 minutes just use the button to unlock the screen.

Having issues with the ringer+notifications sounds, sometimes just vibrates when someone messages me or call me i need to restart to fix this.

Proximity Sensor it's a pity not working fine at all unfortunately.

Ah and sometimes my phone reboots automatically!

No reboots. No proximity problems.

All I'm seeing is failure of run/walk tracking apps under lock screen and inability to get the last Camera update. Any other minor issues got solved by poking deeper into settings...

Everything is working just fine, except Skype.
Skype is keeping on throwing me out of the app, though its logged in and I can receive skype calls, but when I would like to make one, skype would just open the app, and in max 2 second, throws me out ...


Does anyone has any idea?

Have you tried uninstalling Skype and reinstalling?

Is Skype your default handler for all things Skype or is it tied to your Messenger?

I feel on .164 my battery is not doing as well as previous build.

Have you tried uninstalling Skype and reinstalling?

Is Skype your default handler for all things Skype or is it tied to your Messenger?

I ddidn't understand what you actually mean?
Did you ask me that if I'm using skype as my main calling app instead of my own carrier's calling system? Or something else??

If that's what you mean, no, I'm using skype for normal chat and voice calls
And yeah I did uninstall and reinstalled it but no Luck yet :/

Mostly it was the uninstall/reinstall I had hoped would fix it. Since that didn't, it's likely somewhere in the twisted settings tree they used for 10.

Few things:
- Battery life was terrible initially but turning off Skype-integration with messaging and doing a vanilla reset helped massively
- Proximity sensor works better for me now
- Definitely not as fluid as WP8.1. Messaging is still incredibly slow
- Phone/apps/overall experience is much better
