1520 & MicroSd Cards

I have had two 1520's and two 128gb Sandisk MicroSD Cards. With any combination, once I fill the card to about 35-40gb, the whole phone slows down. Apps (both on the card and the phone) are slow to open. When opening folders, the icons take a few seconds to appear. When rebooting, it takes a while for the phone to find the apps. A hard reset fixes this until you start to add apps or video files again. This started with Windows 8 and still is and issue with Windows 10 Mobile. I am looking to maybe try a Samsung 128gb card and see if this helps. Has anyone had rwal good luck with a larger card and a 1520 running great when they fill it?

What class are your micro sd cards and tier i.e pro, extreme etc?

Interesting, as I don't have a 1520, nor can use one with my 920 :evil: I'll leave this one for other 1520 users to chime in.

As the only thing I can thing off is that the cards may be on the verge of giving out but that's just a wild guess as the behaviour is similar to my dad's 620 as apps were slow to open, then pictures started disappearing, phone became somewhat sluggish - removed it - everything was fine. Had to reinstall the apps though and set everything back to built-in storage in storage sense.

I've had SanDisk cards and overall they've been slow on my 1520. Right now I'm using a Samsung and it's definitely fast, especially during 4K video recording.

I have this one but the read speeds are definitely in the 50s, not sure why the product label says 48mbps.

Thanks. Maybe I will buy the 128GB and see what happens. Amazon is good about returns anyhow if there is an issue.

Make sure you test the card with a benchmark program like crystal disk
