Hello, I am looking forward buying a new Lumia 1520 Phone. Where should I look for best prices and is it worth buying one in 2017?

I just did, had an iPhone 7 for 2 months but was unhappy with the photo quality and wanted to break away from the Apple/Android clone phone wars so decided on Windows, initially wanted the 950XL but didnt like the build quality, so got a 1520 about 3 weeks ago (brand new) and installed the latest Preview of W10 (14393.726) and its brilliant, has not hung once, battery is superb, am loving it!

Great, can you share more details about from where you bought it and how much did you pay for it?

The 1520 is still an amazing phone. Has the same guts as the lcon/929/930. Had to give it up for a 650 due to broken screen. Strongly recommend it

Honestly at this point, you're probably looking at buying it used or at least refurbished and you should probably look at your typical online marketplaces like eBay and Swappa.

I found one used but the user claims it is kind of new cuz he got it for a present and didn't use it at all. It has 5 hours talk time and the price is 130 EURO. Is it good price?

If you find one that has not been carried around in a pocket this is the one you want.
Most of the problems users have with this phone are caused by screen flex which results in phantom taps.
I have had one for over three years, never carried in a tight pocket. Still good as new and running 8.1. I want a phone that works all the time.
The 1520.3 version has wireless charging and 32GB memory, RM-938

Just wanna say that W10 (14393.726) is rock solid on my 1520 in case you wanted to give it a whirl, you can always go back to 8.1 but I doubt it. W10 now is very stable and having access to apps that have been redone for W10 and getting updates is nice too.

I've had one for years. It's powerful and gets it all done. Windows 10 Mobile is fine. One proviso, solvable: the battery. I and others have had to replace the battery, which is not removable. I ordered a replacement from China off of Amazon and eBay (yup two, just to be sure), had a local tech shop open it up and put it in. Solved. But an adventure.

Will be collecting a Lumia 1520 soon and plan to update to W10M AU. Can anyone advise what features, that are present on WP8.1 that I will lose with W10M update? Dolby Headphone? Camera prowess? Active noise cancelation? Are all sensors working, e.g. Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, sensor core? I know W10M threw out FM radio, so it seems I will have to get an app for regular radio. But any info is welcome.

Camera IQ seems very good, not sure on what else you'll lose, but you gain a lot, there's a lot in WM10 to like... I find it smoother and snappier than 8.1 Like I said I'm very chuffed n WM10 AU, you can always downgrade to 8.1 if unhappy.
