I'm getting ready to pull the trigger getting the no contract 2520 unit. I don't think I'll need the LTE but If I do I'm going T-Mobile no more ATT for me. I'm getting the 2520 from the MS Store if I decide to add the sim later what version do I need Att or Version to connect with T-Mobile. Thanks guys for all your help it has been a great experience reading the Pros and Cons I just came down on the RT side and I like Lumia products.

As far as I know, the 2520 is carrier locked. I'm not sure if or when locking will become available. However, if you do managed to get it unlocked then you should definitely get the AT&T 2520. T-Mobile and AT&T are GSM carriers and you're gonna have an easier time adding T-Mobile service to the AT&T version than with Verizon.

True but AFAIK they must supply the unlock code I'm purchasing without a contract meaning I'm paying market price I should be able to nice over to T-Mobile ATTis not supplementing the cost

I purchased a Verizon model yesterday, full price w/ month-to-month contract. I'm in Seattle. Can't use my T-Mobile SIM in the Verizon. I called VZ customer service about unlocking. They said it is "unlocked". Elevated the call to manager and even to "techincal specialist" in a "special department". He, too, said the device is "unlocked." But, obviously it isn't. So, I am going to return it today.

Do you get an error message? Did you add the proper APNs?
Verizon devices that support LTE should indeed all be unlocked.
