Auto Time Sync so wrong

I did a search on here trying to find an answer but it appears the Auto Time Sync has been broken since Nov 2012
Is the time sync done via the cellular network (currently with Vodaphone in Australia) or WiFi? Either way, my 520 can sometimes be days out, it certainly never gets it right, what is the deal? And I found if I have the clock set manually it drifts after a week, this is why I was looking to make the auto-sync work.

Thanks.

To be honest, I don't know how this works.

Okay, so start by soft resetting your phone (lower volume button + lock button until screen turns off), this should reset the date and time to 12:00, September 1, 2012.

Set the time and date manually and turn on auto-sync. Whatever you do, don't do a hard reset. Aside from forcing you to delete all data, it won't reset the time and date (though I recognize that this might be a way to fix the problem)

I'll look around at the Nokia support forums and see what I'll find.
