regarding killing apps

the multitasking in windows phone does put up some issues.
especially when it comes to killing the apps working in background.
ios 7 has same feature of multitasking as in windows phone but the "killing app" feature makes a whole lot of difference.
same is the case in android phones where you can kill apps background running apps with ease.
please could anyone explain me why so?

The idea is that apps get suspended. They don't really run in the background.

People just don't get the concept and demand therefore a possibility to close the apps, like you do right now. And how should they, it's nowhere explained really.

Most likely the option will come in the mythical update Windows Phone 8.1, or already in GDR3? I can't remember right now.

Well, except for some apps such as Internet Explorer, which continues to run scripts even if you "back" out to "close" it. And there's also the related problem of paused/tombstoned background apps taking forever to "resume" when it would just be faster to kill and relaunch the app. And there's the sometimes uncontrollable nature of background agents and media/telephony applications.
