updated to 8.1, now hard time connecting to live and store

Did the upgrade to 8.1 today
all seems to have gone well

Having a problem though logging into my live.com account, which is also my windows store account
I've verified that I'm using the correct PW on live.com(i am)
but keep getting a message that says
can't connect
were having trouble signing in
the service is not available right now
please try again later

I do see 10 updates available, so believe phone is hitting store but can't download anything

had a hotmail account as well, deleted it and now trying to add it back
get a screen that that says to add outlook.com to your phone, we will take you to outlook to authorize windows phone
I click connect and get a screen that says emails+accounts at the top and nothing else on the page

gmail and yahoo seem to be working fine

no idea what's going on

Any ideas what I might try?

I upgraded yesterday, had a problem with Hotmail only. My Yahoo, gmail accounts are synced after the Update except the Hotmail, I had to add it again!! Its working fine now. I guess you should do a soft reset on your phone

Found it

My Date/Time was incorrect. Don't have a sim in my phone so was off by two days
though I would think D&T should be updated by wireless or on it's own. Or is my thinking off
