I want to convert a few videos into 480p for watching on my phone. What would be the best software for that?
Also, would converting it into 480p lead to any loss in quality? I assume since the phone has a 480p display anything over 480p would look the same?
    Thanks.

I've seen good success with DVDVideoSoft's media offerings.
I haven't been converting videos since my Palm days a few years ago though, so I'm a bit out of it.

You are correct, the phone won't be able to display anything sharper than what the hardware will allow. however, resolution is only part of the quality story. compression can reduce quality regardless of resolution, so be sure to watch that.
