If I replace the Digitizer will my phone work properly?

L 520 Digitizer

I recently updated my Lumia 520 to WP 8.1. After a few weeks my phone cracked its digitizer and the touch is no longer working. I wanna know if it continue to work properly (with WP8.1) if I replace the digitizer. Thanks in advance for your responses.

If you live in the U.S. it is a lot cheaper to just buy a new 520 or one off Craigslist for almost the same price of a digitizer. Heck, yesterday on CL I found someone selling a new 635 for only $50. But if you do not live in the U.S. everything I just said is useless lol.

if the digitizer is the only thing broken, then replacing it should result in a working device.

do try to get an original part, counterfeits do exist.
