Lumia 520 is no more after downgrade! What should I do?

Lumia 520 is no more after downgrade!

I updated my L520 to TP recent build 2 days ago. It was full of buggy and slow, I decided to downgrade my phone. Downloaded the Windows Phone Recovery tool.

- It detected my phone
- I downloaded the required files [1.5GB]
- My phone is connected to the PC via USB all the time
- After download, it asked for installation and I clicked Yes
- Within seconds, my phone rebooted and a red screen with Nokia written in Bold letters showed up, below that something like a progress bar stands
- New driver Installation pop up showed and installation just began
- After that, a error message showed on my PC that Installation failed and a finish button at the below.
- I waited for sometime and nothing happens so I clicked the finish button
- My phone was still connected and the red screen was there
- WP Rec. Tool still detected my phone so I clicked it and a screen appears where I could find the Install button and I went for it.
- Now, my phone switched off and the same error message in the PC
- My phone couldnt switch on now and it is not detected by the WP rec tool either
- My phone had full charge while starting this operation

I'm sorry this happened to you and I'm sincerely hoping this wasn't your primary device, because MS did warn us all, not too install TP on our primary devices

In this case it does seem more like sth is wrong with the recovery tool itself. Not sure when that tool will be updated, because it hasn't been working optimally for quite a few users. Most actually tell others to test if the tool works on your phone before using TP

I have no idea on what to do but here's what I would try

- try removing the battery

- hold power button down and then press and volume down

- when an exclamation point appears (if it does) press volume up, down, power button, down.

I tried everything.. no luck at all.

I can hear sounds in PC when connecting/diconnecting my phone, also I could hear this when I try hard reset...

1.Power off your phone.

2.Then press and hold Volume Down + Camera key + Power button.

3.If you feel that phone vibrates, then release only Power button.
4.When your phone reboots, then release the reset of holded keys.

5.Done!

I have the same problem with my L520, we should alert everyone... My phone is dead

Looks like an internal (hardware) issue :/ How old is the phone?

its not a hardware problem
try Lumia Recovery tool, click at "my phone doesnt respond" with the usb cable disconnected, then it will say to you connect the phone, do that, may solve your problem
it will give you an error message, but every time you try, the error will be later at the process, eventually you will hit 50%, when this happens, you will not get any error

Your Phone is bricked same thing happend to me on My Lumia 520 the only solution seems jtag or taking it to a microsoft store so they can fix it.

The same issue happend to me today..When the software started installing about 20% it failed..now my phone is completely switched off..i tried everything(hard reset etc..) No response :crying:

It's hardware guys.. You can either bring it to the store to fix it, buy the components yourself and fix it or just go for a new phone.

Going for a new phone is the best option... The 635 is $50 so that can save you some money and it's an upgrade from the 520..

MS updated their recovery tool, so check if that solves your problem before anything else

What you could do is uninstall the program from your pc and reinstall it, the driver included in your version might be outdated. If your drivers are outdated it can cause connectivity and data transfers to become problematic from pc to phone.



Uninstall

Restart pc

Download program again

Restart pc

Re run the recovery process
