From what I can see, it should work after it is unlocked and the APN settings changed. It largely has to be able to work on AT&T for roaming on T-Mobile.

Yes, I use it with a Net10 AT&T SIM card. It works fine, including 4G & MMS.

If you're on AT&T, I'd suggest their Lumia 520 instead of the 521.

Yes it's unlocked (legitimately, I got the unlock code directly from T-Mobile).

AT&T is actually getting the Lumia 520 ($100) for use with GoPhone services in a few days: AT&T Launches First Windows Smartphone for GoPhone, The Nokia Lumia 520 | AT&T

If you don't have T-Mobile and don't want to go through the unlock process maybe this could be a good option.

If I have a 521 that is in the process of unlocking for att is there a disadvantage to use it instead of the 520 att is releasing? I got the 521 off of ebay for $100 and it would be great if I don't have to bother with trying to sell it. Thanks everyone.
By the way I have been using it via wi-fi at home for about a week and I love this much better than my iphone 4s. Everything just seems so much more intuitive.

Not really the phone are the same expect for a few differences - Bands that are supported, Branding on Phone Itself, And Apps (Wifi Calling will not work on AT&T network that only work on T-Mobile). The AT&T 520 may come in colors but I am unsure about that one.
