Must I install a language pack for this to be able to see japanese/korean tags correctly.
Some show some weird symbols, but others are fine.

The tags are fine since I have them on another mp3 and they show up as they should.

Also no equalizer?
That is a huge let down,is their any third party ones?

Foreign tags on mp3, do not have any, so no idea about that one.

Yeah no equalizer or apps, the api and drivers that are needed for that is only at OEM level (Nokia, HTC, Samsung), not for developers.

It seems that the Nokia app screws up tags, but the Xbox music shows them fine. Not any good way to play mkv, until vlc is released.

I keep my tag simple (Contributing Artists, Album, Title, Track #) -

a lot of use are waiting for that vlc app, otherwise you will have to convert your mkv to mp4 format pc side then drop into phone.
